Details: The Hoya Carnosa is one of the most adaptable houseplants you can have in your home. A very beautiful easy to grow trailing plant that can be displayed in many unique ways; from topiary compositions, to trailing and climbing arrangements. Between the gorgeous, thick leaves and the ease of propagation, the hoya carnosa will make an excellent addition to your plant collection. The plant is easy to care for, select a place that gets bright, indirect light. However, don’t let their waxy foliage fool you. They are not succulents and can’t take harsh afternoon light. Water regularly with room-temperature water, spring through summer. Let the top layer of soil dry between watering. In the fall and winter growth naturally slows down and they won’t use as much water. Water sparingly during fall and winter, give them just enough that the soil doesn’t dry out completely. In optimal conditions these plants produce gorgeous star-shaped pink and white flowers when they have ideal lighting conditions. These flowers are why one of the common names for the hoya carnosa is the “porcelain flower plant.” It’s truly a low maintenance plant, that can be adopted by Plant Newbies and Black Thumbs!
