3 Houseplants to Repel Ants
Share
There's an old saying about it being a good thing to bring the outdoors indoors… but it does not apply to bugs. So, let me show you 3 houseplants to repel ants.
Sage (Salvia officinalis)
Not only does it add a lovely aroma and a splash of green to your home, but its distinct scent also keeps ants at bay. Sage's strong odor disrupts ants' scent trails, making it harder for them to navigate.
Basil (Ocimum basilicum)
This culinary favorite does more than flavor your dishes; its potent smell is a natural ant deterrent. Basil's essential oils are unappealing to ants, making it an effective repellent.
Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus)
This herb's woody scent is loved by humans but loathed by ants. Its aroma masks the scent markers ants use to communicate, effectively keeping them away from your space.
The good news is that all the plants I mentioned are safe for pets. So, have you tried to repel ants with any of these houseplants? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for watching.
